DAY 8, LONDON: LAST OF WINDSOR, THEN LONDON
Last Photo. Howard with the Fire warden memorial statue.
Christine Fierro in front of the memorial to the WWII Fire Wardens, who rescued people & put out fires in London during the Blitz.
This sign is for the place where we ate dinner. They might be famous, but probably nor famous for being good. Oh, with Christine Fierro
The pretty flowers at the end of the Queen's Moat garden.
DAY 8, LONDON: finishing up Windsor & heading for London.
The other middle part of the moat garden.
This is part of Queen Elizabeth's Moat garden, contained in the Bailey around the Round Tower.
Here are Clair & Joelle waiting for the group. Right place, wrong time.
See, yet another great picture of me! We had a good time at Windsor Castle. We toured St. George's Chapel (sorry, no photos allowed), as well as the state rooms of the castle (again, no photos allowed), saw lots of armor and weapons, but no Queen, evenm though she was at home.
DAY 8, LONDON: finishing up & heading for Windsor.
See, I had to get a picture of me in there!
Christine Fierro posed for me, how nice!
Clair poses in front of the queen!
The statue of Queen Victoria is sort of in the middle of town, in front of Windsor Castle. It is our usual meeting place after free time. You can see the castle in the background. Here, our trynamic trio are posing in front of it, just before we went to lunch!
LONDON: In front of Buckingham Palace
We got a good phioto of Rebecca in front of Buckingham Palace. Of course, we were still standing pretty far away.
Cora & Thomas sure look good standing in front of the Queen's house. of course, she has several!
I tried to get photos of everybody, but this one of Maggie worked out very well.
We took a lot of photos of the same places, with different people in front of them. This whole post is of our folks with Buckingham Palace in the background. We did not try to get closer to see the changing of the guards. It was too crowded, and some of us got to the fence the night before. Here are Crystal & Peter.
MORE LONDON ON TOUR!
Melissa was also watching the guards march by. We were unable to get closeer to Buckingham Palace, due to the crowds.
Clair was watching the guards marching to change when I got this photio.
This was our London Guide, who also took us as far as Windsor. We are all listening intently.
Heather Rose poses near a guard at Claridge House, where Prince Charles & Family live. She could not get any closer to the guard this time.
DAY 8: LONDON!!!Bus tour then Windsor Tour
Another group of our kids are also seen at the cathedral. Hi Girls & Jackson & Ms. Newhart & Heather Rose!
Jennifer & Ashley pose in front o0f the side door of the Cathedral.
Oner of the first things on our bus tour of London was Westminster Cathedral. Here is Christine Fierro in front of the side door.

MORE DAY 7: THIS TIME, OXFORD.
The Quads of Oxford Colleges are there for the relaxation of faculty & students, so why not my students? They do look good sitting there. Not enough time to go to sleep, Grant!
Some of our girls are practicing looking like Oxford students. Or maybe they are trying to think of how it would feel to go to college there. Rhodes scholars, anyone?
Here is our group photo from Oxford, made in the shade of the quadrangle by the entrance to the Bodlean Library.
Don't Ms. Fierro & Ms. Rose just look perfect, like they belong on the Bodlean Library staff?
Well, this is Thomas Mitchell standing in front of Oxford's version of the Bridge of Sighs (Venice), which is just across from the Bodlean Library
MORE STRATFORD
This is Ann Hathaway's(Shakespeare's wife) house & garden, being shown to us by Ms. Prichard.
This is seriously the weirdest statue in Stratford. Heather managed to make a very good parody of it. I am not sure if it is a laugh or a scream.
This is the tallest tree in Shakespeare's garden. Too bad it probably was not there 400 years ago. It is not, however, growing out of Heather Rose's head.
DAY 7: ENGLAND AT LAST! Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, & London
Just happened to be passing by and saw this group, yearning to be photographed, so i did.
I had to get a photo of me tickling the foot of Puck. Guess that is why he laughs.
Pretty hard to resist my puckish chaperones, when they are standing by a statue like this.
Puck is perhaps one of the most beloved of Shakespeare's characters. This statue stands at the top of the street where Shakespeare's birth house is. Clair posed for me next to the statue.
WALES: THE FINAL FRONTIER. After dinner we climbed a mountain
On the way back down, we went a slightly different route and found this statue to the bird that would pick at our bones, had we not made it!
See, even the geezer made it to the top! He just had to go a bit slower than the young wippersnappers!
Our quintamic quintet at the tip. (I am taking the photo.)
The girls at rest, waiting for the geezer to arrive, but I finally did!
WALES: A LOVELY PLACE TO VISIT, LLangoln
We took a walk around town before dinner, and ended up at the old railroad station, which, like most olf rrs in Wales, is mostly used for tourists these days. It was closed, but the girls got to pose for Ms. Newhart & I
Another shot. They really are not this ugly, they were just trying to break my camera! Thanx, girls!
MORE WALES:On the road & other photos.
This is the ferry boat that we took from Ireland to Wales. Big.
Thomas Mitchell discovered the oldest house in Wales in Beaumaris, and here is the photo.
Right down the street from Beaumaris Castle, was a house with a castle door knocker on it. Looked very old!
Nice photo of Caroline Carrico, in front of a wall on our rest stop in the Welsh countryside. It is made out of local stone.
MORE FROM OUR 1ST DAY IN WALES: Various photos
Jennifer & Ashley & Clair & Carlyn stand in front of one of the many beautiful walls in the Welsh mountains that we drove through. Hi, Girls!
Here we have some of our DSA girls, and as waterfall, in the Welsh mountains. This was one of our rest stoops.
This is the little Welsh teashop where my wife and I had lunch while everyone else was across the street at the tourist trap! Good food, nice folks.
Thomas & Cora Mitchell really enjoyed Beaumaris Castle, and Milan looks like she had fun as well.
